Upgrade your vehicle’s stopping performance with DBA brake pads engineered for Australian driving conditions. The DBA brake pad range includes direct-replacement compounds for everyday vehicles, low-dust pads for electric and hybrid cars, performance street upgrades, heavy-duty 4WD and towing applications, club track days and dedicated circuit racing.
Each DBA brake pad compound is developed for a specific level of friction, temperature resistance and vehicle use. Selecting the correct compound ensures the braking system delivers the required pedal response, thermal stability and wear characteristics without introducing unnecessary noise, dust or excessive brake torque.
DBA brake pads are designed as direct replacements for compatible original-equipment pads and do not require brake system modifications. They can be used with other quality brake rotors but are developed to provide optimum performance when matched with the appropriate DBA Street Series, 4000 Series or 5000 Series brake discs.
Select the required DBA brake pad compound and confirm the pad shape, axle position and vehicle fitment before ordering.
Best suited to: Daily drivers, passenger vehicles, SUVs, family cars and light commercial vehicles.
DBA Street Series brake pads are the ideal choice for drivers replacing worn factory pads and wanting dependable braking performance without sacrificing everyday comfort. Developed for normal road use, the SS compound provides a responsive pedal, controlled stopping power and low noise during commuting, school runs and general city or highway driving. Application-specific ceramic or semi-metallic formulations are used to deliver the braking characteristics required by each vehicle, rather than applying one generic material across the entire range. Street Series pads are designed to minimise visible brake dust and help keep wheels cleaner, making them particularly well suited to modern passenger cars and SUVs. Choose DBA Street Series SS brake pads for a quality OE-style replacement that offers easy bedding, reliable cold response and smooth operation in normal driving conditions.
Best suited to: Electric vehicles, hybrid passenger cars, electric SUVs and hybrid light commercial vehicles.
DBA Street Series EV brake pads are developed specifically for the different braking demands of electric and hybrid vehicles. Regenerative braking can reduce the frequency with which the conventional friction brakes operate, meaning the pads must still respond consistently after periods of limited use. Electric vehicles are also commonly heavier than equivalent combustion-powered models, placing additional demand on the braking system when full mechanical braking is required. DBA’s EV-specific friction formulation is designed to provide dependable initial response, low noise and controlled brake dust for everyday urban and highway driving. A dedicated shim configuration helps manage vibration and noise, supporting the quiet and refined operation expected from an electric vehicle. Choose DBA Street Series EV pads when you need a direct-replacement brake pad designed around the weight, operating pattern and comfort requirements of modern electric or hybrid vehicles.
Best suited to: Performance street cars, modified daily drivers, sports vehicles, SUVs, 4WDs and light-duty towing.
DBA Street Performance SP brake pads provide a clear upgrade over standard replacement pads without introducing the compromises associated with an aggressive track compound. The semi-metallic friction material delivers an immediate and effective response when the brake pedal is applied, giving performance drivers stronger bite and greater confidence during spirited street use. SP pads are designed to operate effectively from normal road temperatures, making them suitable for vehicles that are driven daily but regularly experience faster roads, mountain runs or higher braking loads. Low wear helps control dust and extends service life, while application-specific shims, slots and chamfers reduce unwanted noise and vibration. Choose DBA Street Performance brake pads when you want sharper braking, a firm pedal and improved stopping power while retaining the road manners needed for commuting and regular street driving.
Best suited to: High-performance street cars, club track days, heavy towing, GVM-upgraded 4WDs, commercial vehicles and police or pursuit applications.
DBA Xtreme Performance XP brake pads are designed for vehicles requiring high initial bite and consistent friction across a broad temperature range. The carbon-fibre-enhanced semi-metallic compound provides stronger brake torque and greater thermal stability than the Street Performance range, making XP suitable for high-powered cars, loaded 4WDs, tow vehicles and demanding commercial applications. These pads respond effectively at road temperatures while retaining performance as braking temperatures increase, allowing them to support both street driving and occasional club-level track use. XP is particularly valuable when additional vehicle weight, larger tyres, towing loads or repeated high-speed stops place greater demand on the braking system. Choose DBA XP brake pads when maximum stopping confidence and fade resistance are required from a road-compatible performance compound, accepting that increased friction may produce more dust and wear than lower-duty street pads.
Best suited to: Circuit racing, supersprints, time attack, endurance racing and other extreme-temperature motorsport applications.
DBA Race Performance RP brake pads are dedicated competition pads designed for circuit environments where brake temperatures remain above approximately 350°C. The carbon-fibre-enhanced friction formulation delivers stable brake torque, high-temperature strength and dependable resistance to fade under repeated race-speed braking. RP pads are suited to vehicles operating on racing tyres, high-performance rotors and competition brake fluid, where the braking system is consistently maintained within its intended temperature range. Their aggressive bite and elevated temperature requirements make them inappropriate for normal road driving, where the pads may not reach sufficient operating temperature to perform correctly. Choose DBA Race Performance brake pads for supersprints, circuit racing, time attack or endurance competition when high-temperature consistency takes priority over road comfort, low dust and cold braking response. These pads should only be paired with suitable high-performance rotors and a correctly prepared motorsport braking system.
Some vehicles may benefit from using different DBA brake pad compounds on the front and rear axles. The front brakes generally perform a greater percentage of the braking work and may require additional friction and temperature capacity, particularly on heavy 4WDs, trade vehicles, tow vehicles and some performance cars.
A vehicle may therefore use DBA Xtreme Performance XP pads on the front axle and DBA Street Performance SP pads on the rear. This combination can provide the required front braking capacity while maintaining controlled rear brake torque and reducing the risk of excessive rear-wheel lock-up. The correct combination depends on the vehicle’s weight distribution, brake system design, tyre grip and intended use.
Not every DBA brake pad compound is available for every vehicle or axle position. In some applications, DBA may offer only the compound determined to provide the most appropriate friction level, operating temperature and brake balance for that vehicle.
Brake pads may be supplied for the front or rear axle and are generally packaged as one axle set unless otherwise stated. Always confirm the DBA part number, axle position, caliper type and quantity required before purchasing.
Brake pad noise, dust, wear and rotor wear will vary according to the selected compound, vehicle weight, driving style, rotor condition and operating temperature. Higher-friction compounds such as XP and RP may generate more brake dust and wear than standard street pads.
New brake pads must be installed against serviceable brake rotors and correctly bedded before maximum performance is expected. Existing rotors should be inspected for minimum thickness, cracking, scoring, excessive runout and uneven deposits before new pads are fitted. Motorsport compounds also require suitable high-temperature brake fluid and appropriate cooling for the intended application.
